Differentiating Pit Bikes from Dirt Bikes A Few Basic Aspects
Mostly people get confused between a pit bike and a dirt bike. Although both the bikes have a number of similarities but they differ in several aspects as well. So if you are new to the world of biking and looking for the right bike then first of all, you will need to understand the basic difference between a pit bike and a dirt bike. Pit bikes are smaller in size as compared to the dirt bikes and are used for pit racing or riding in pits usually meant for kids. On the other hand, dirt bikes are designed for streets and rough terrains. Besides this there are several other ways to differentiate between a pit bike and a dirt bike.

Pit bikes have a four stroke engine that makes it a powerful and tough machine whereas the dirt bikes are equipped with two stroke engine enabling the riders to drive at a higher speed. The four stroke engine consumes fuel efficiently and more powerful as compared to a two stroke engine. In dirt bikes the engine is located at higher position for avoiding stumbling from bumpy surfaces and gasoline reservoir is placed in between the tires for offering the required balance.
